Barcelona Loses Out on €7 Million in Nico González Transfer

Barcelona missed out on over €7 million ($7.2m) as part of Nico González's €60 million ($62m) transfer to Manchester City after Porto exercised a clause. González, 23, joined Porto from Barça for €8.5m in 2023, with Barça maintaining an option to re-sign him for €30m and due 40% of any future transfer gains. Porto paid €3m to reduce Barça's cut to 20% and cancel the re-signing option. Barça made €13.32m from the move, but missed out on additional €7.3m due to the clause.
