venice, doha - Australian couple shares their traumatic experience of sitting next to a deceased woman during a flight to Venice.
Australian Couple's Harrowing Experience
An Australian couple, Mitchell Rinig and Jennifer Collin, were on a flight to Venice when a woman collapsed in the aisle. According to the International Air Transport Association protocol, the deceased should be moved to an empty row or back to their assigned seat, covered with a blanket as a sign of dignity and respect.
Despite attempts to move the deceased to business class due to her size, the couple was shocked to find the body placed in the seat next to them. Upon landing in Doha after a four-hour flight, they were asked to wait for the police and medical team to arrive.
The ambulance personnel uncovered the deceased passenger's face in front of the couple, leaving them traumatized. Qatar Airways allegedly provided no support, stating the couple had to reach out for assistance themselves.
