Argentina's Efforts Towards a Free Trade Agreement with the US
The government of Argentina is actively engaged in negotiations to sign a Free Trade Agreement (FTA) with the United States. The State Spokesperson, Manuel Adorni, stated that the agreement would bring significant benefits to Argentina's economy.
Adorni emphasized that the agreement with the US, being one of the world's leading economies, has the potential to greatly contribute to Argentina's economic growth. He highlighted the ongoing intensive efforts and discussions surrounding the FTA, acknowledging that such agreements involve complex discussions and will require time to finalize.
Adorni pointed out that the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Economy are deeply involved in the negotiations, focusing on how Argentina can enhance its competitiveness and export high-value products to the US market.
It is worth noting that Argentina's President Milei recently met with former US President Donald Trump at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) in Maryland, where Trump expressed openness to a Free Trade Agreement with Argentina, praising Milei as a 'great leader'.
