Navalni excluded from elections Russia

Russian opposition leader Aleksej Navalni can not vote in the presidential elections in his country.

A court in the city of Kirov sentenced Navalni earlier this year to a conditional imprisonment of five years. He would have guilty of eclipse of converted 250,000 euros at a forestry company. According to the Russian electoral commission, the verdict came into force, so Navalni did not have the passive right to vote.

Navalni is known as a pronounced opponent of President Vladimir Putin. The presidential elections are scheduled for next March, candidates can report officially from December.
