Madrid wants to prevent economic damage

The Spanish government is trying to prevent the autonomy of the Catalonia region from getting more damage due to the unrest of self-government.

In the meantime, more than a thousand companies have withdrawn their headquarters from Catalonia and elsewhere. This is evidenced by company registration data. The Spanish government has already put forward its economic expectations.

Catalonia is threatening to invoke Madrid's independence following a referendum in which an overwhelming majority voted for secession from Spain. The Spanish Senate will decide on Friday whether the central government may take out the Catalan government.
