International search for submarine

Argentina is assisted in the search for the submarine ARA San Juan by, among others, Great Britain and the United States.

Argentina itself with ten warships and several planes to the ARA San Juan, according to a spokesman for the Argentine navy. Chile, Uruguay and South Africa have also offered help.

The last known location of the ship was 432 kilometers from the coast of Patagonia in the Gulf of San Jorge. The sea is about 350 meters deep there. Because there is no communication, the navy suspects that there is a problem with the electricity supply. In that case, the submarine must come to the surface, 'therefore visual and radar detection is important. '
